This teaching provides a clinical analysis of why spiritual deconstruction stalls. Rohan identifies the core operational flaw as the avoidance of direct communication, both internally and externally. He frames 'straight shooting' not as a moral preference, but as an essential engineering tool to dismantle the 'Mitoté'—the internal fog of assumptions, gossip, and self-deception. The session contrasts this direct method with the dysfunction of a 'high offense culture,' where emotional reactions supersede factual reality, thereby preventing any possibility of achieving the clarity required for Direct Realization.
- In what specific area am I avoiding being a 'straight shooter' with myself, choosing the convenience of self-deception over the discomfort of clarity?
- When observing my internal 'Committee,' which voices argue against direct communication, and what catastrophe do they predict will happen if I speak the unvarnished truth?
- Where has my fear of causing 'offense' in others led me to perpetuate a falsehood or a misconception, thereby increasing the internal Mitoté?
- Can I identify a past situation where my lack of directness led to a loss of clarity and an outcome of suffering for myself or others?
- What 'failure' am I currently avoiding facing by seeing a situation 'how I want to see it' instead of as it is?

[00:00:12] So important to practice being a straight shooter in the world. [00:00:20] Speaking straight, speaking what you mean, having the courage to do so. [00:00:26] because it helps avoid misconceptions. [00:00:39] avoids so much gossip and drama, problems. [00:00:43] They quite often on the big scale can escalate to wars or grudges, matches, or just disharmony over and over and over. [00:00:54] And if we could just speak to people about what's going on directly, [00:01:06] honestly, calmly, we can find out what's actually happening for that person and in the situation. [00:01:17] And if just imagine if this became the new norm overnight tomorrow, part of the reason people don't do this is because we're in such a high offense culture now. [00:01:29] It's so easy to be offended and offense has replaced facts for many many people. [00:01:39] They're not interested in facts. If offense comes in, all the facts can be dropped. We're not interested in facts, I'm offended. [00:01:47] And this is a dangerous dangerous state of consciousness if masses head into it. [00:02:06] Now smarter people and perhaps the wiser people start being quieter and quieter and quieter because speaking the truth is too offensive for people and it's talking to a brick wall. [00:02:24] And the offended type people get louder and louder and louder and they multiply. We get this imbalance where the truth isn't important anymore, even just on a scientific level, alone spiritual level, political level. [00:02:45] And if we can't speak directly and clearly out in the world whenever possible, it's not always possible. [00:02:56] They're causing great conflict at times. [00:03:00] We can start being straight with ourselves inside. [00:03:05] When we start being straight with our insides, in our interior, [00:03:13] we start being straight there. We get clearer and we get more clarity and when we get more clarity, we get more accuracy and when we get more accuracy, we have a better life. [00:03:29] And we can see things coming. We're not caught in the fog anymore. [00:03:40] We can see the exits now. Here comes a big problem that's unsolvable. I have clarity. I'll take this exit and I'll just bypass this. There's nothing I can do here. I'm not going to get involved. [00:03:56] Or the clarity will say, I can do this much here or that much. [00:04:16] So if you start practicing in the outside world, it'll start to happen within you too and if you practice within you, it'll start to happen in the outside world. [00:04:28] And yeah, people will get offended. [00:04:34] And they have the right to. It's their business, it's their life, it's their suffering. [00:04:41] Generally, if you stay in the heart, there's not too much you can be sensed and it will be within the heart and the other hopefully will understand this if they're able to. [00:05:52] more satisfying and productive for both parties and all parties for that matter. [00:06:07] in the heart. [00:06:15] And making assumptions and running agendas through your mind and scenarios through your mind and don't want to face up what you've created in your world and try and push that onto other people and other situations and not take responsibility, you lose all your clarity. [00:06:35] And that's a result of not being direct and straight within yourself and seeing things as they are instead of seeing them how you want to see them which is convenient so you can avoid where you're failing as a man or a woman. [00:06:58] And you have to be a man or a woman to wake up and hold it. [00:07:11] No way around it.
GLOSSARY
-
Straight Shooter
An individual who practices direct, factual communication, thereby starving the ego-structures of the distortions and gossip they feed on. -
The Mitoté (The Fog)
The state of internal confusion, assumption, and drama that results from a lack of direct, honest communication with oneself and others. It is the primary obstacle to clarity. -
Clarity
The direct result of being 'straight' internally; the operational ability to see facts without the distortion of egoic agendas, leading to accurate perception. -
Accuracy
A state of perception and action that follows Clarity. It is the capacity to interact with reality as it is, which produces effective, non-suffering outcomes. -
Offense Culture
A societal domestication where emotional reactions ('offense') are given more authority than objective facts, creating an environment hostile to Direct Seeing. -
The Exits
Strategic points of disengagement from unsolvable problems, which only become visible through the state of high-resolution Clarity. -
Inner Engineering
The discipline of being 'straight with your insides'; a precise deconstruction of self-deception to achieve operational clarity and dismantle internal patterns. -
Speaking from the Heart
Communicating a direct truth from a place of non-agenda and compassion, which minimizes unnecessary harm even if the factual data is difficult to hear. -
Agreements
The unconscious assumptions and convenient narratives one runs internally to avoid facing personal failure or taking responsibility for one's own state. -
